Peter Ungar is a fifth-generation jeweller who takes great pride in designing and manufacturing jewellery to the highest standards. His two stores showcase a beautiful selection of jewellery designed in-house and crafted by skilled goldsmiths, alongside iconic international brands such as Fope and Georg Jensen.

Guided by the expertise of his father and grandfather, Peter has mastered the art of designing high-quality collections. By creating bespoke jewellery in-house, he ensures that his prices remain competitive.

Peter’s grandfather was a passionate gardener, and from a young age, Peter helped him tend to his garden and plant fruit and vegetables in his allotment. Those days were filled with lessons about different gemstones, the jewellery-making process, and running a successful business. This invaluable knowledge has stayed with Peter, helping him develop his skills throughout his career.

Peter began working in his father’s store, where he honed his love for retail. He worked alongside his father and brothers until he decided to attend university and later opened his own business as a jewellery representative. He spent almost 20 years travelling around Europe as a salesman, collaborating with various fine jewellery brands. This experience taught him the benchmark processes that would later ensure his creations were made using the best methods and the most skilled craftsmen.

In January 2011, Peter opened Beaconsfield Fine Jewellery, bringing everything he had learned during his travels to create a store that offered the quality of Bond Street jewellery to the Home Counties. Designing most pieces in-store enabled him to produce the finest quality jewellery within 35 miles of his front door. Each diamond and gemstone is hand-picked, designed, mounted, set, and polished to the highest quality with the utmost care, as he understands that the finer details are crucial.

In April 2017, Peter opened his second store, Peter Ungar Jewellery, in his hometown of Marlow, Buckinghamshire. This presented the perfect opportunity to develop the PETER UNGAR JEWELLERY brand and expand the company’s reach in an area close to his heart. With Beaconsfield Fine Jewellery now including a CAD studio, Peter was able to focus even more on attention to detail, allowing for greater flexibility in adapting and personalising designs.
