Peter Ungar is a fifth-generation jeweller who takes great pride in designing and manufacturing jewellery to the highest of standards. His two stores showcase a beautiful selection of jewellery designed in-house and manufactured by our goldsmiths alongside iconic international brands such as Fope and Georg Jensen.
Having taken guidance from his father and grandfather before him, Peter has learnt how to design collections of the highest quality. By creating bespoke jewellery in-house ensures that his prices remain competitive.
Peter’s Grandfather was a passionate gardener and Peter helped him from a young age tending to his garden and planting fruit and vegetables in his allotment. His grandfather spent these days teaching him about different gemstones, how jewellery is made and how to run a successful business. This invaluable knowledge has never left Peter and helped develop his skills in later life.
Peter then went to work in his father’s store where his love for retail was honed. He worked alongside his father and brothers until he decided to go to University and then on to open his own business as a jewellery representative. He spent almost 20 years travelling around Europe as a salesman, working with a variety of fine jewellery brands. They taught him the benchmark processes which later ensured his creations were made utilising the best methods and the highest skilled craftsmen.
Peter opened Beaconsfield Fine Jewellery in January 2011, bringing everything he had learned on his travels, creating a store that brought the quality of Bond Street jewellery to the Home Counties. Designing the majority of pieces in-store enabled him to create the finest quality jewellery within 35 miles of the front door. Each diamond and gemstone is hand-picked and then designed, mounted, set and polished to the highest quality with the utmost care, understanding that the finer details are crucial.
In April 2017 the second store, Peter Ungar Jewellery, opened in Peter’s hometown of Marlow, Buckinghamshire. This was the perfect opportunity to concentrate on the development of the PETER UNGAR JEWELLERY brand and expand the company’s reach in an area very close to Peter’s heart. With Beaconsfield Fine jewellery now including a CAD studio, it allowed for even greater attention to detail and gave the opportunity to easily adapt and personalised designs.
